The location was marvellous, just next door to sites around Gent and the center of town and easily accessible. A few times I ate at Restaurant de Graslei, located at a short distance from the hotel. I was happy, the twin/double room I booked came with a large bathroom, separate shower plus fridge.

Monasterium Poortackere exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, with a spacious and excellent shower. The hotel is located in a quiet area, only a short stroll from the center of town. The breakfast was fantastic, with delicious coffee. I would highly recommend enjoying the breakfast, especially if you're staying in August or over the weekend when many other cafes are closed.

Very helpful staff, very spacious room and received complimentary upgrade which was a nice surprise. Beautiful surroundings in an old monastery, really quite different from anything I have seen before, so a rather unique experience altogether.
